Welcome to Exmoor Cottage Holidays at Town Tenement Farm; five beautiful self-catering holiday cottages in a quiet and peaceful village in North Devon, within the Exmoor National Park. The stone-built holiday letting cottages have recently been renovated (retaining many period features) and are warm, comfortable and well-equipped. They all have a real log fire or stove in the living room and a private enclosed patio or garden outside. They surround a charming courtyard, and in the beautiful grounds is an exclusive children's playground and a delightful walk around Humphrey's Hill with lovely views. Within 300 yards are a handy general store and Post Office, and a traditional inn with great food.

Town Tenement has that special atmosphere from being continuously occupied for over a thousand years. It was the site of the Domesday Manor of Challacombe, which would originally have been timber, but was probably already a stone building by 1120 (when it was called a "botulph" or "palace"). The current buildings around the courtyard are little changed since 1670, when they were a "tenement" (for two families), and partly two-storey (called an "aulem" or "hall"). They divide naturally into individual holiday cottages, each with its own enclosed garden, and are all dog-friendly and suitable for couples, families, or a small group of friends.
