THE FARMHOUSE

The luxury Farmhouse is a 3 bedroom character self catering holiday cottage which will comfortably sleep up to 6 people. Features include a living room with large inglenook fireplace and stone flagged floors; kitchen with Rayburn and dishwasher; large separate dining room; laundry room and downstairs WC; upstairs shower room and bath room, both with WC's; and enclosed gardens to the front and rear.

The Farmhouse at Town Tenement Farm was probably originally a single storey Devon Longhouse built in the C16th, with a large stone inglenook fireplace between the living room (the "Upperside") and the barn (the "lowerside"). Inglenook Cottage, and the second storey to the Farmhouse, were probably added at the end of the C17th.


The luxury Farmhouse is the largest of our holiday cottages with a spacious sitting room; large dining room; well equipped kitchen with Rayburn; laundry room with downstairs WC; and three upstairs bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate up to six people. The Farmhouse was originally a traditional single storey Devon longhouse dating from the C16th. There are enclosed gardens to the front and rear.		The large sitting room has an impressive original stone inglenook fireplace with two built in bread ovens and a multi fuel stove (logs are provided free of charge). There is an unusual stone flagged floor and plenty of comfortable seating. The south-facing window overlooks a small front garden and a peaceful courtyard.

The large farmhouse kitchen has an oil-fired Rayburn and is fully equipped with electric cooker, hob and cooker hood; microwave; toaster; dishwasher; coffee maker; separate fridge and freezer; and a full set of crockery and cutlery. The window overlooks a small front garden and peaceful courtyard.

The kitchen has a rear stable door leading out to an enclosed rear garden surrounded by attractive stone walls.		A separate scullery has a downstairs WC with a hand basin and there is a laundry area with a sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and iron and ironing board. The scullery has an external door leading out to a small enclosed front garden.


The spacious dining room has a large oak dining table, hostess trolley and cedar wood panelling to the walls and ceiling. The large west facing window overlooks the rear gardens.		The dining room also serves as a second sitting room, with comfortable seating and Freeview digital TV. Heating is provided by an electric night storage radiator and an instantaneous electric convection heater.


The double bedroom has two bedside table lamps, two built in wardrobes, an airing cupboard, a chest of drawers and a dressing table. The south facing window overlooks a peaceful courtyard. Heating is provided by an electric night storage radiator.		The larger twin bedroom has a small chest of drawers with table lamp, a large chest of drawers, an old school desk with chairs and a built in wardrobe. The south facing window overlooks a peaceful courtyard. Heating is provided by an electric night storage radiator.

The smaller twin bedroom has a dressing table with drawers, two table lamps and a built in wardrobe. The south facing window overlooks a peaceful courtyard. Heating is provided by an electric night storage radiator.		The bathroom has a large corner bath, a WC, hand basin and heated towel rail. Heating is provided by a 2KW hot air blower. Hot water is provided by the Rayburn in the kitchen and an electric immersion heater. The window overlooks the rear gardens.


The shower room has a 6KW electric shower (which heats cold water instantaneously), a WC and a hand basin. Heating is provided by a 2KW hot air blower. The west facing window overlooks the gardens.		The Farmhouse has a small enclosed front garden with seating and a spectacular Wisteria. The front garden faces south and overlooks a peaceful courtyard.


There is a large enclosed rear garden surrounded by attractive dry stone walling with a built in barbeque and a picnic table, ideal for containing small children and dogs.		The attractive dry stone walling behind the Farmhouse has some charming built-in seating.

In summary, the luxury Farmhouse is a character 3 bedroom stone built self catering holiday cottage comfortably accommodating up to 6 people. There is a large sitting room with stone inglenook fireplace, a large dining room, a farmhouse kitchen with a Rayburn (which provides constant hot water and heats the kitchen and a radiator in the upstairs hall) and a downstairs scullery with laundry and WC. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, a double and two twins, and a separate shower room and bath room, both with WC's. All heating and electricity and oil for the Rayburn are included in the price (there are no meters). There are enclosed gardens to the front and rear and the rear garden has a picnic table and a built-in barbeque.
